134900 Osaka University Creates AI Supercomputer with Supermicro SuperBlades Osaka University is a 90-year old institution that serves a wide range of researchers, students, and external experts. A supercomputer class system, SQUID was developed in order to give researchers significantly more computing power than was previous available. Osaka University chose systems from Supermicro that consisted of Supermicro SuperBlades utilizing the 3rd Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors. In addition to the CPU computing capacity, GPU nodes are also made available to researchers that require specialized hardware.

Learn more about the Osaka University installation and how the researchers were able to:

  • Reduce the time to complete their simulations
  • Increase the resolution of the models used in their simulations for more accurate results
  • Run additional workloads that excel when using the new GPU servers
