Fortinet Inc., a cybersecurity company, unveiled improved Artificial Intelligence (AI) operations capabilities across its entire networking portfolio, including the first AI-based network operations management for 5G/LTE gateways in the market.

The new AIOps capabilities have been developed in response to the growing demand for network operations centers, or NOC teams, to handle faster digital innovation and the ongoing expansion of the hybrid workforce. According to Fortinet, this shift has led to an increase in the use of AI-based management tools like AIOps by NOC teams to enhance network visibility, speed up response to anomalies, and cut down on the number of tickets needed to address potential problems in local-area and wide-area networks, including software-define WANs.

The new Fortinet release incorporates the most recent AIOps additions to Fortinet’s Secure SD-WAN and Wired/Wireless LAN portfolios to give network operations teams access to more dynamic insights and event correlation throughout their entire network. As a result, Fortinet asserts that its FortiAIOps is now the industry’s most comprehensive AIOps network management platform.

FortinetAIOps draws on the company’s more than 10 years of experience in AI and machine learning, with FortiGuard Labs processing over 100 billion security events daily from more than six million devices to provide visibility to NOC teams. A single operating system and control console unifies networking and security across LAN, Wireless LAN, and WAN as part of the service.

According to the business, adding AIOps across the network enables organizations to obtain valuable network insights that actively optimize networks. FortiAIOps delivers streamlined solutions to trouble tickets and configuration recommendations for hardware and software.

Fortinet Secure SD-WAN takes advantage of enhanced FortiAIOps capabilities, including the ability to track metrics such as interfaces, system resources, and internet service provider bandwidth. The service also dynamically computes baselines for software license agreements to guarantee that the best performance is always attained.

For Wired/Wireless LAN, Fortinet’s existing Wired/Wireless LAN AIOps capabilities are enhanced and can give NOC staff real-time visibility of possible faults before network users are negatively impacted. Configurable service-level agreements are another improvement that enables teams to fine-tune their preferred network metrics to reflect their network health best.

Fortinet is the only business offering AIOps on a 5G/LTE link, thanks to its 5G/LTE Gateways AIOps capabilities that support FortiExtender 5G/LTE gateways. The development of AIOps improves IT teams’ ability to identify problems and guarantee resilience by increasing visibility for NOC teams and enabling data analysis all the way down to the level of WAN links rather than only at the abstraction level of SD-WAN.
