A well-known AI meeting transcription service, Otter.ai Inc. launched its latest AI-supported meeting assistant that can conduct meetings, record live notes, perform screen grabs, and brief the key points post meeting.

The company said this latest service; OtterPilot necessarily “automates meetings from start to finish.” It acts like a dedicated member of the business who attends the meeting, stays thoroughly engaged, and records all the takeaways so that other human attendants can pay attention to their own tasks.

Chief Executive and Co-founder of Otter.ai, Sam Liang mentioned that the ability of AI to get daily activities done and particularly Tesla’s Autopilot system has been the source behind his inspiration. “Similarly, we’ve seen the huge improvements in Otter’s AI capabilities, and now our OtterPilot promises to eliminate note-taking, save time and improve meeting productivity for our user’s next billion meetings,” he added.

Otter’s flagship introduced in 2016 is an automated AI-supported transcription service that performs tedious note-taking. The participants can watch the app recording notes in real time and then edit the transcript later.

OtterPilot can be connected to Google calendar or Microsoft to schedule upcoming meetings and automatically join virtual meetings to record notes. While the meeting is in progress, attendees can watch live notes being generated, highlight key takeaways, raise their individual comments, and assign task aspects.

As per the company, it takes a lot of attention and time to attend meeting and write notes simultaneously. Also, it is not that efficient. Otter.ai claims that note-recording is 30X faster using AI, involving the complex tasks.

With the incorporation of OtterPilot, even the visuals in the meeting such as pictures and slides can be automatically added into the notes at the appropriate moments. This makes it easier to search any segment of the notes and later understand the key points covered. By scanning the images and listening to the conversation, AI can recognize the exclusive, significant, and most relevant pictures to the discussion.

Post meeting, OtterPilot creates AI-generated summary of the major topics discussed and sends them to attendees so that they can share and recall the key takeaways. Hence, people need not check back the transcript to remember the discussion. The summary includes slides captured by AI and hyperlinks to main moments. This simplifies redirecting to the transcript with most relevant and catchy verbosity.

This latest addition of the service came into effect after the company announced accomplishing the remarkable feat of transcribing over one billion meetings so far.
