A new artificial intelligence-based service has been introduced by Pigment SAS, a startup offering business planning platform, to help business teams make decisions more quickly and thoroughly.

Unsurprisingly, Pigment AI enhances the company’s current cloud-based business forecasting platform, which manages real-time business strategy, with AI. AI is said to help finance, sales, and human resource leaders increase the speed and ease with which they can access various sources for analysis, modeling, and reporting.

Data querying, smart insights, pattern recognition, automated analysis, reporting, assisted modeling, and scenario creation are some of Pigment AI’s key capabilities. A user can now use natural language in a chat-like interface to get quick and more intuitive answers to questions.

As per the company’s case in point, an executive can try and use Pigment AI to ask questions like, “Why are our current projected people costs higher than the approved 2023 plan?” and then receive a summarized feedback and a visual presentation that can be shared with stakeholders directly.

Co-founder and co-CEO, Romain Niccoli said, “Through Pigment AI, we’re one step closer to our goal of making business planning easier and accessible to everyone. However, we know that AI is only as good as the data it’s based on. By providing enterprises with an accurate, single source of truth for their data, we’ve laid the right foundations so that integrating AI becomes a natural next step in the evolution of our platform.”

Pigment stated before the announcement that there has already been significant interest in the tool’s AI-powered planning component, particularly among “finance leaders who are increasingly becoming strategic business drivers.” Additionally, the service gives businesses the advantage of quickly assessing the state of their operations during a period of macroeconomic change and market disruption.

The last time Pigment made headlines was in September, when it secured USD 65 million in new funding for business growth and product development. IVP, FirstMark Capital LLC, Meritech Capital, Blossom Capital Management Ltd., and Greenoaks Capital Management LLC are a few of the company’s investors.
