Qualiti Inc., a startup specializing in software testing automation, recently announced the completion of a USD 6.5 million seed funding round led by Sierra Ventures and featuring participation from Epic Ventures.

Qualiti has developed an automated platform that employs generative artificial intelligence to enable developers to quickly generate complete testing suites for software programs or applications in as little as 15 minutes without human intervention. Qualiti strives to revolutionize the fundamental quality assurance process in software development through its platform.

Software testing is pivotal in modern application development pipelines, encompassing the validation and assessment of the product’s functionalities under scrutiny. In an era characterized by continuous software updates, where applications are frequently refreshed—sometimes even multiple times a day—testing assumes a critical role in mitigating or eradicating the potential for bugs.

Organizations can minimize the duration and financial resources needed to tackle emergent issues by conducting comprehensive testing before launching a new update. Furthermore, testing can contribute to enhancing the performance of applications, even in cases where no bugs are detected.

In the past, developers had to formulate a series of tests for each application or even rely on human testers to manually explore the app and identify bugs. However, this method is time-consuming and could significantly benefit from automation, where solutions like Qualiti’s come into play.

The startup claims to generate a comprehensive test suite for any application with zero human input. With the arrival of each new application update, Qualiti will incorporate pertinent new tests, uphold existing ones, and promptly assess the outcomes in real-time. It will promptly report any identified bugs, all achieved without human supervision. Qualiti claims this approach could save up to 30% of a company’s engineering budget.

Peter West, Chief Executive of Qualiti, said, “It’s about time AI does the work for us, and Qualiti has made that happen for testing. We’re the only ones who have truly made that, a truly hands-off, no-human-work-needed AI-managed solution, happen in testing.”

Qualiti also highlights that it has experienced remarkably swift momentum, witnessing a month-over-month customer base expansion of 340% leading up to the current seed funding round. The company intends to utilize the funding to bolster its sales and engineering teams, facilitating even more rapid growth. Ultimately, its vision is to become the sole quality assurance tool that software developers require, offering nearly instantaneous feedback as soon as they deploy new code into production.

Managing Director of Sierra Ventures, Mark Fernandes, has expressed that Qualiti has a distinctive opportunity to revolutionize the test automation industry. He added, “It’s in desperate need of innovation. The rapid adoption of its solution by developers at very selective companies is evidence that the team has hit a nerve.”
